Spring 2013Diagramming Stories Let's take colored pens to contemporary short stories to illuminate specific elements of fiction—such as characterization, shifts in time and point of view, dialogue, and even white space. Why? To see how stories by writers like George Saunders and Alice Munro work under the hood, so to speak. We'll also try our hand at the very elements we diagram through in-class writing exercises. Please bring to class: four differently colored pens and $5 for a reading packet. Instructor: Angela Jane Fountas Seattle Writing Class Venues
